Willaree Rayette McFayden (Jackson)

Rayette McFayden Jackson, 53, of Winston-Salem, went to be with her Heavenly Father Sunday, March 2nd, 2014. She was born June 27th, 1960 at High Point Regional Hospital. She was a graduate of Western Guilford High School and was previously employed in the insurance industry.

Rayette was a gifted pianist and a beautiful singer. She was also a fabulous entertainer as the female lead singer of a band in the 80’s/90’s. They played all around the Greensboro area including Friday at 5 and City Stage downtown. In addition, all 3 of her sisters were blessed to have her sing at their weddings.

Rayette was full of life, a bright light with a wonderful sense of humor. She leaves behind many friends and her cat Tammy whom she adored. While many are grieving the loss of Rayette there is comfort in knowing she is singing and dancing in Heaven.

Rayette is survived by her parents, Billie and Patsy McFayden of Greensboro, her brother Danny McFayden of Myrtle Beach, her sister Karen Pollard (Jim) of Kernersville, her sister Leslie Collins (Rusty) of Oak Ridge, and her sister Crystal Mercado of Greensboro. She was a beloved aunt to Justin Treadway, Jet and Jasmine McFayden, James and Katie Pollard, Caroline and Brett Collins, and Nathan and Matthew Mercado. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Lewis and Lockie Ruth Fletcher and her paternal grandparents Bill and Katie McFayden. The family would like to give special thanks to her life-long friend Julie Collins who was always there for her.

The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, March 8th from 6-8 at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home, 300 West Wendover Avenue, Greensboro, NC
